This allows answering questions such as “What are my system bottlenecks?” “How much will I increase my production if I buy a new machine?” “What would be my new profitability if I add a new shift?” “What will be my expected customer service if I modify my call center process?” “How much would I save if I modify my supply chain?”
Simulation models are excellent tools to answer these questions as they reduce risks and costs. Indeed, it will always be faster, cheaper and safer to test new hypothesis in a simulation model compared to the real-life system.
